PAIRINGS
The Pairings in these images reflect my interest in the development of new cultivars of flowering plants. Even before the act of cross-pollination, hybridization protocol begins with the selection of two compatible pod and pollen parents chosen for specific traits to be synergistically combined in the envisioned future offspring. In each of these paintings, two distinct cultivars are brought together to visually represent the promise of genetic recombination.
